Dogs
and fleas, they go together
In
pleasant or inclement weather.
Take
a lovely day in spring
When
butterflies are on the wing.
An
ordinary kind of dog
Has
spied an ordinary frog.
To
dog, this creature's something new
He
sniffs its back, as dogs will do.
The
frog is calm as calm can be
It
is as if he doesn't see
This
curious nose upon his back
This
nose so bulbous, wet, and black.
And
while these two are occupied
A
flea decides to hitch a ride...
The
flea's adventures continue in A Flea's Tale,
a
juvenile rhyming picture book (34 pages, including 17 illustrations).
